Things 7 & 8 - Take 2

I've finally got my head around this.  I picked up a few group feeds (News, Sport and Rugby Union) quite easily.   These have their own folders so that was easy.  I was able to use my Ipad to get the Library Blog.

I now feel comfortable using Reader and Flipboard and I will have a look a Zite.

It is good to get the latest of everything without much effort.

I can see the use for such quick and current feeds in many fields.  Students and Staff would benefit from sites with update on Technology and Innovation and different ways of doing things.

Personally I enjoy keeping up with the world.  However, I must admit to being more of a traditionalist when it comes to News and Sport.  I like the comfort of having a newspaper delivered every day (except Christmas and Good Friday) and vegging out in front of the TV.

I probably will use the Moto GP feed a bit.  Still undecided who to barrack for.  Valentino Rossi is back at Honda so who knows!

  1. I like the RSS feeds too. I've got Zite and Flipboard on my iPad but dont tend to look at them as often as I should (want to). But the RSS feeds of the Library Biz and News are invaluable in Outlook.

  2. I have Zite on my iPad - I take the feeds for some subject areas and put them up on a couple of ACU blogs.

  3. Excellent...I confess that although I read papers online- I still like the paper SMH on the weekend- the Soduko and crossword are so much more satisfying on paper!!
Don't let the RSS feeds rule your life- I initially set up 100s of feeds, but pruned them back when I realise that I had too many and just wasn't getting aorund to stuff (that I didn't really need to read anyway!!)
