Anne, Gary and I used a spreadsheet to do our desk roster for the next two weeks. It was great to all be able to use it at the same time and make adjustments and comments. This is yet another tools for collaborative work. I can see many possibilities for everyone. Students often work in groups and this means they don't have to be together to complete their work.
I use google search and google scholar often to check citations for Interlibray Loans. Sometimes a small error in a title can cause problems. Using google I can usual figure out what they really want.
I also used google maps to find an old friends house. I hadn't seem him for more than 35 years!
Google seems to have a lot going for it. I think the more I use it the more useful it will become.
I forgot to mention that the spreadsheet was pretty easy to create. The toolbars are more simple to use than excel.

ReplyDeleteI think I had a real ah ha moment when I first used Google Drive (It was called Google Docs then). I though it would be so good for students collaborating on projects- they seem to do so much group work!
